Denali National Park & Preserve has put a remarkably efficient item on today’s calendar: a free 2 p.m. sled-dog demonstration, a 1:20 p.m. shuttle departure, and a kennel full of canine rangers prepared to make the whole arrangement look easy.
The National Park Service lists September 20 as the final day of the 2026 summer demonstration schedule. The program lasts about 30 minutes at Denali’s historic Sled Dog Kennels, where visitors can meet the Alaskan huskies and learn about the dogs’ work in the park.
A schedule with excellent ears
The trip begins at the Denali Visitor Center bus stop. The park’s event listing says the shuttle leaves 40 minutes before the 2 p.m. program, giving riders time to reach the kennels, enjoy the demonstration, meet the dogs and return. The park estimates the complete outing at about an hour and a half.
