Valles Caldera National Preserve has placed a delightfully unusual assignment on the Fall Fiesta schedule: an outdoor silent disco. Cleo Claws, the Hilarious News culture reporter, has reviewed the plan and confirms that the dance floor comes with headphones, a volcanic backdrop, and a strong chance of people moving enthusiastically while the landscape keeps its own calm.
The National Park Service says the event runs from noon to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, as part of Fall Fiesta and National Public Lands Day. Live sets are scheduled in front of the Volcano Discovery Center in the preserve’s Cabin District. The headphone format lets visitors enjoy the music while reducing sound pollution in the park’s natural soundscape and supports accessibility for people with hearing impairments.
Saturday’s listed performers are Homie Avocado and PreacHer, CR8 and Bass Queens, and DNDY and Fission Project. Sunday’s lineup includes Carma and Joey Fettucine, Burn the Disco and Mii Casa, and girlwizard and KyletheLord. Cleo’s notebook contains one practical observation: a silent disco makes every dancer look like they have received excellent private news.

The gathering also lands on National Public Lands Day, which the National Park Service identifies as the fourth Saturday in September and the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort. The agency says park events extend from September 12 through October 10 this year, welcoming visitors and volunteers to take part in caring for public lands.
For this weekend, Valles Caldera has paired that community-minded occasion with a music program that keeps the volume close to each listener. Cleo calls it an elegant arrangement: one caldera, many headphones, and a dance floor that lets the surrounding high country remain part of the conversation.
